Dalia: Shot-Check & Notes
Dalia is a well-conditioned, aggressive guard who loves to get out and run. She was having a hard time with her shooting to the point where she dreaded shooting the ball, which is all too common in high school kids who fall off track or never learn the proper way to shoot – and it’s a terrible feeling. Within a week of learning that she had turned totally gun-shy from outside the lane, we took some photos at one weekend practice and I shared them with her. We met for a short time – for about 30 minutes and came up with a short list of drills to trouble shoot one problem area at a time. The goal is not to do MORE privates – it’s to eradicate the root of the problem, re-gear the muscle memory and get her feeling good about shooting the ball. Dal is already on her way to feeling significantly better as she’s understanding what went wrong and how to fix it. We’ll need maybe one more check up before her school season begins in November.
