Mo’ Motion Alum Win Hoops Honors

Mo’ Motion Update on Alum (April 2017):  Congrats to Riverdale senior David Goldman for earning First-Team All-New York State Independent Team this season.  David was pursuing options to play Division III basketball, but he opted to go to University of Pennsylvania where he’ll play club and attempt to walk-on, which is no easy task!  Max Peponis (Emory) was the big man on his underdog Dalton team (which played against David’s Riverdale team in the finals).   Max won First Team All-Ivy, as did Jane Baldwin (Trinity).  Jane, who will be playing ball at Claremont in California (Division III), powered her team past Dalton in the semi with a huge all-around performance.  Dalton also showcased three first-team players, one of which was our very own Ema “The Dilemma” Schumer (you never know what this spunky girl is going to do).  Catie Goodell, Riverdale, also had a stand-out senior year after coming back from an ACL reconstruction.  

Autumn Truesdale (Berkshire) signed to play Division I basketball at the University of Richmond.  Zach Light played big minutes and locked down an offensive threat in his final high school game as a junior at Northfield Mount Hermon.  Zach played with seven Division I players on his team this year.  Zach’s been going all out this spring as he heads into the thick of AAU.  Tomas Greenberg, starter at Bronx Science, will be attending Cornell University in the fall.

Other notable alum include Kate Baynard and Justin Sandler, both of whom are going to Duke.  Dillon Holder ran mostly a baseball route starting around grade 8.  Dillon is going to Cal Tech in hopes of playing at the college level.

Sophie Gershon, a sophomore at MIT, tore her ACL this season and had to have a full reconstruction.  Sophie, a math and science major, is going to Spain this summer to rehab while working for a Spanish company on coding.
